Chief Justice John Marshall Commemorative Coin

The United States of America had issued this one dollar commemorative coin of their Chief Justice John Marshall to honour him and to celebrate his 250 birth anniversary in the year 2005. This one dollar commemorative coin had paid tribute not only to the supreme court of United States but also recognized as the entire judicial branch of government. This was the first time in the history of United States that they have featured a Chief Justice of Supreme Court or the Supreme Court as an institution.The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of Chief Justice John Marshall facing towards right with the inscription ‘CHIEF JUSTICE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT 1801-1835’ at the top; and the inscription ‘JOHN MARSHALL LIBERTY’ with the year ‘2005’ to the left and ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ with the initial ‘P’ to the right. The reverse side of the court feature Interior view of the old Supreme Court Chamber located in U.S. Capital; and the inscription ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’, ONE DOLLAR’, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’, written at the bottom.
