Gold Ashrafi of Bahawalpur Listed For INR 1,00,000

This gold Ashrafi issued by Sadiq Muhammad Khan V from the Princely State Bahawalpur is listed for INR 1,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Mumbai on 24th November 2018.Sadiq Muhammad Khan V was the Nawab and later Amir of Princely State Bahawalpur from 1907 till 1966. He became the Nawab of Bahawalpur after the death of his father Nawab Muhammad Bahawal Khan Bahadur in the year 1907 when he was only three years old. A Council of Regency, with Sir Rahim Bakhsh as its President, ruled on his behalf until 1924.
The weight of this gold Ashrafi is around 7.5g. The obverse of this coin depicts a portrait of Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan in military uniform facing towards left in the centre and the legend “Ba-Faziah Taalah Sadiq Mohammad Abbasi Khamis Farman Rawai Mamlakat Khudadad Bahawalpur” around it. The reverse of this coin depicts ‘Coats Of Arms in the centre, mint name Bahawalpur written above and ‘Yek Ashrafi’ at the bottom.
