Coinage of Chhota Udaipur Princely State

The Chhota Udaipur State was ruled by the Rajputs of Chauhan dynasty. It was established by Rawal Udeysinhji, a descendant of Pataj Rawal of Champaner. This state shares its history with Devgadh Baria and Rajpipla Princely states of eastern Gujarat.Copper paisa coins were issued by Guman Singhji, Jit Singhji and Moti Singhji. They had Gujarati characters with denomination mentioned in the centre of a lined circle usually followed with a scimitar pointing left with the name of the ruling chief. The reverse had the date with ‘Savasthan Chhota Udepor’ in Gujarati.
