Thousand riels of Cambodia

In 2016, the national bank of Cambodia issued a 1000 Riel note illustrating the image of Norodom Sihanouk.The note is printed in blue, red and yellow on multicoloured underprint. The obverse of this note depicts the legend in Khmer script on the top right panel. In the centre, the Coat of arms and portrait of Norodom Sihanouk is depicted with Naga statue (mythological Snake) image on left. The serial number is seen on the left and centre. The denomination is depicted in the top left and bottom right corner and Khmer legend at the bottom centre.
The reverse of this note depicts a legend in Khmer script and English script below it on the top left corner; it reads ‘National Bank of Cambodia’ with the date of the issue below it. An image of Palace building in the centre with Kinnari - ‘half human and half-bird’ on the left corner. The king is depicting riding on a horse which is the background on the right. The denomination depicted on top and bottom right corners in Khmer and English numeral.
