The 2c stamp of Newfoundland is the only stamp issued during the brief reign of King Edward VII. This pictorial definitive stamp was issued in September 1908.

The Colony of Newfoundland and Labrador, as it was officially known, was composed of the Island of Newfoundland, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and Labrador, on the mainland, Northwest of Newfoundland. Most of the population resided on Newfoundland Island.

The 2c denominated stamp issued in September 1908 is a beautiful red coloured stamp. The design of the stamp features a Map of Newfoundland, showing the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the left and the Atlantic Ocean on the right.

The stamp is inscribed with “NEWFOUNDLAND POSTAGE” at the top with the numeral “2” below it and the denomination value in letters flanked by the numerals are at the bottom. The extreme end of the stamp is inscribed with “AMERICAN BANKNOTE CO.N.Y.”
