Franklin Delano Roosevelt Commemorative Coin

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was an American statesman and political leader; he is also referred with his initials as ‘FDR’. He was in his second term as governor of New York when he was elected as the nation’s 32nd president in 1932. It is said that President Franklin D. Roosevelt was paralyzed from the waist down suffering polio, and despite having this disability he was elected as the president of United States of America.

The United States of America has issued this five dollars commemorative coin which features his image on the obverse side of the coin; with the inscription ‘FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT’ on the top; year ‘1997’ and inscription ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ is written on the right side of the coin. The reverse side of the coin depicts ‘The Presidential seal displayed at his 1933 inauguration; with the inscription ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ at the top with ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ and the inscription ‘FIVE DOLLAR’ at the bottom.
