This year in 2018 Somalia had added a new design to its African wildlife series, the leopard. The African wildlife series has is always been known for the depiction of an elephant for the past 15 years and to this, they have added a coin depicting a leopard.
Leopards are graceful and powerful big cats closely related to lions, tigers, and jaguars. The leopard is so strong and comfortable in trees that it often hauls its prey into the branches.
Somalia had minted around 30,000 coins worldwide on its first release. These coins were minted in Bavarian State mint in Germany. Each coin contains about 0.9999 of fine silver. All the coin will be in capsules.
The obverse of this coin depicts Somalian Coat of Arms, with date along with the face value of 100 Shilling. The reverse side of the coin depicts the full image of the leopard looking back over his left shoulder. The background is a natural setting of a rocky landscape.
