A rare silver two pence 1971 error coin brought more than 800 Euros to The Royal Berks Charity which is used to fund vital equipment for a hospital. Some commemorative 50p pieces celebrating Olympic and Paralympic swimming featured a design in which the water was thought to mask the swimmer’s face too much. The coin was redesigned but there is no information about how many were struck with the initial design, according to the Royal Mint. One of these rare coins sold for £820.

There are thought to be a few undated 20 pence pieces in circulation, thanks to a 2008 error in the minting process. The coin without a date can be swapped for at least £100 at The Royal Mint's office in London - or sold for more on eBay.
