To commemorate the International Coffee Day celebrated on 1st October Croatian Post issued a set of two beautiful stamps. The coffee day was first celebrated in Milan on 1st October 2015. Ivica Madzar is the designer of these two enchanting stamps. The stamps illustrate an alluring image of beautifully and innovatively served coffee cups and beans. This celebration is held to honour the hard work of farmers, traders, roasters and baristas responsible for creating such an energising and refreshing beverage.
The legend of coffee‘s discovery is related to a shepherd Kaldi, who notice his goat was more active after eating certain red berries. When he tasted the berries, they gave him additional energy. Hence, the coffee was expanded to the Arabic peninsulas where the whole method of processing and drinking started.
