This gold mohur issued by Pratap Singh Gaekwad of Gaekwad family from the Princely States Baroda is estimated for INR 3, 25,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Chennai on 6th October 2018.The Gaekwad the ruling family of Princely State Baroda, they rose to the power during 18th Century by carving out territory from the hold of Maratha of Poona. Pratap Singh Gaekwad sat on the throne of Baroda after the death of his grandfather Maharaja Saiyajirao Gaekwad in the year 1939 CE. He was the last ruling king of Baroda. In the year 1947 India got independence from the British rule, and in the year 1949 Baroda had been merged into the Union of India.
