Samuel Langhorne Clemens is better known as Mark Twain was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher and lecturer. He was born in the US at Florida Missouri on 30th November 1835; and was raised in Hannibal, a port city near the Mississippi River which later becomes the setting for many of his beloved writings like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.

Before becoming a writer; Mark Twain had done several jobs like printers apprentice, riverboat pilot and Miner. The turning point of Mark Twain came with his first successful short story name ‘Jim Smiley and his Jumping Frog’ which he wrote for a newspaper and was published in nationwide.

Mark Twain is one of the best-known writers in the world, having more than 6500 edition of his books translated into 75 languages. Every book he wrote is still in print, including ‘The Adventure of Tom Sawyer’ and ‘The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn’ both this book had never gone out of print since they were first published.

The United States had issued his commemorative coin in both gold and silver metal. Gold coins were issued in 5 dollar and silver coins were issued in 1 dollar. This silver 1 dollar was issued in the year 2016 with his bust facing towards left.
