Commemorative coins have their own importance because they are issued to mark the achievements and hard work of a person, a group, organization or commemorating an event. They are issued to pay tribute to various achievements and accomplishments. They are issued on a special occasion or in special events. They are issued for general circulation or in special packages for collectors. These special packages are called as uncirculated sets (UNC) or proof sets.

The Indian government had issued 10 Rupee commemorative coins with the theme of Yoga; to spread awareness about the benefits of Yoga. Yoga originated in India; its a complete exercise which deals with the Physical, mental and spiritual levels of the human body. It aims to transform both body and mind.
