This Silver Square Heavy Rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor Jahangir during the 6th year of his reign; this coin weighs around 13.2g. When Jahangir came to the power; he increased the weight of his coin by 20%. It was slightly higher than the rupee standard. This heavy rupee is also known as ‘Jahangiri’.The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of the king and reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name Lahore. This Extremely rare Silver Heavy Rupee was sold for INR 60,000 in the auction held by Todywalla in Mumbai on 1st September 2018.
