Abraham Lincoln was born on 12th February 1809, in Kentucky. He was the 16th President of United States of America. He had served his country from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865.He led the United States through its Civil War and its moral, constitutional, and political crisis. While doing his work he had also preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.
The USA had issued this 1 Dollar commemorative coin in the year 2009 to celebrate 200 birth anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln. The obverse of this coin bears the image of President Abraham Lincoln facing towards the right with the inscription ‘IN THE GOD WE TRUST - LIBERTY’ with the year 2009. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with an excerpt from Gettysburg Address ‘We Here Highly Resolve That These Dead Shall Not Have Died in Vain that this Nation, Under God, Shall Have a New Birth of Freedom And That Government of the People, By The People, For the People, Shall Not Perish From The Earth’.
