Scottsdale Mint released the 22nd coin from its Biblical Series honouring John the Baptist. The $2 coin is the fourth one from this series to be released in 2018 and would be distributed by APMEX.

The reverse features a high-relief rimless design of daughter of Herodias getting the head of John the Baptist on a tray. The obverse features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II along with inscriptions stating weight, purity and face value. Struck on 2-ounce of silver, the coin has a mintage limit of 1,499 pieces and is issued for Niue.

Each coin from the series comes in a gift box that looks like a Bible and can be purchased for $179.99. The certificate of authenticity lists Matthew 14:8 to 11 (New Living Translation). Serial numbers on the edges are laser-etched.
