Mir Mahbub Ali Khan Gold Ashrafi Sold For INR 61,000

The Gold Ashrafi issued by Mir Mahbub Ali Khan of Princely State Hyderabad was sold for INR 61,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 1st September 2018.Mir Mahbub Ali Khan was the 6th Nizam of Hyderabad. He came to the throne at the age of 3 after the death of his father Afzal ud Daulah. Mir Mahbub Ali Khan ruled this state between 1869 and 1911.
This gold Ashrafi was issued by him in the Hijri year 1311 during the 27th year of his reign from the mint Farkhanda Bunyad Hyderabad. The obverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Nizam-ul-Mulk Bahadur Asaf Jah with the Hijri year 1311. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the mint name and regnal year. Regnal year on this coin is written on the top and it cannot be seen properly.
