Jahangir Gold Mohur Sold For INR 4,10,000

The very rare gold mohur issued by Mughal Emperor Jahangir was sold for whooping price of INR 4,10,000 in an Auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 1st September 2018. The weight of this coin is around 10.9g and it was minted in Burhanpur. Burhanpur is an historical site; it is situated in Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh. It was one of the capitals of Mughal Dynasty.The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Nur-Al-Din Jahangir Shah Akbar Shah’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Ilahi month ‘Di’ on top, mint at ‘Burhanpur’ at the bottom. Hijri date and Regnal year in not clearly visible on the coin.
