Shah Jahan’s Gold Mohur Listed For INR 75000

This beautiful gold mohur was issued by Mughal Shah Jahan during the 2nd year of his reign in the Hijri Year 1038.Shah Jahan Badshah Gazi was the fifth Mughal Emperor. He ruled from 1628 to 1658 AD. The reign of Shah Jahan is considered by historians as the most glorious period of the Mughal rule in India.
This gold mohur is listed for INR 75,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held on 1st September 2018. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sahib Qiran Shihab Al-Din Muhammad Shah Jahan Badshah Gazi, with the Hijri year 1038. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with the kalmia, the mint name Burhanpur, ilahi month Shahrewar and regnal year 2.
