Beautiful silver Rupee of Akbar

The third king of the Mughal dynasty to occupy the throne of Delhi was Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar. He was born on October 15, 1542, at the house of a Rajput chieftain Rana Vishal at Ambarkot. At the age of thirteen years Akbar ascended to the Mughal throne in Delhi.The coinage of Akbar reflects the power of this mighty emperor. They are the most exquisite and varied among the ones that were minted by other Mughal emperors.
The above shown beautiful silver Rupee of Akbar was issued from Jaunpur mint. The obverse of a coin depict with Kalima ‘ La Ilaha Illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullah’. The reverse of a coin is inscribed with emperor’s full name ‘Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar Badshah Gazi’ within cinquefoil border.
