Resurrection of Jesus Christ Featured by Serbia Post

Serbia post issued two festive stamps to celebrate Easter. These commemorative stamps depict Resurrection of Christ – the most awaited event the Christians around the world.Easter Sunday is the date of the annual celebration of Christ‘s resurrection and the most awaited day by all the Christians. By the act of resurrection, Jesus Christ proved his divine power and opened the gate of eternal life, joy and happiness that we can find in our faith.
This day of eternal joy and faith was celebrated by Serbia by issuing two stamps featuring two stamps based on the paintings depicting the Resurrection Scene of Jesus Christ.
The stamp with the value of 23RSD depicts the painting of 18th century, Boka Kotorska School of icon painting, whereas the motif on the stamp 74,00Din features 19th Century Vojvodina Painting. Both of these paintings are displayed in the National Museum in Belgrade.
Besides the motif on the envelope is based on the scene of “Descent into Hell” belong to the 14th century and made up of beautiful silk embroidery.
