The Royal Australian Mint released two new coins to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its popular annual Kangaroo coin series that was introduced in 1993. Some of the earlier coin designs from the series have been re-imagined on a Proof silver $10 coin with selective gold plating, and a Proof gold $100 coin.
Officials revealed that the new designs reflect the Mint’s artistic excellence, craftsmanship and quest for quality. The series is popular not just in Australia but also all over the world. Both the coins feature an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination and Year-date 2018 year-date on the obverse.
The 1-ounce .9999 fine gold coin has a mintage limit of 750 pieces and can be purchased for $2,600 AUS while the 5-ounce .999 fine silver $10 coin has a mintage limit of 1,993 pieces and can be purchased for $500.01 AUS.
