The Royal Australian Mint revealed a new $2 circulating coin depicting a wheelchair competitor, just before Invictus Games Sydney 2018 presented by Jaguar Land Rover. The mint and Invictus Games Sydney 2018 have jointly produced the coins to honour wounded, injured and ill service Australian personnel and veterans. 2.3 million coins will be circulated in total before Invictus Games Sydney 2018 that will take place from 20th to 27th October.

The design highlights victory over adversity and reflects the attitude of Invictus Games Sydney 2018 competitors. Both organisations are extremely happy and honoured for being a part of this coin release. The coin’s design is very interesting as the same coin is featured inside it, creating a beautiful cascading effect. Inscriptions include 2018, Sydney, 2 Dollars, Invictus Games and the designer’s initials.
