On the occasion of Guru Purnima, last year, Niue Island, an island country in the south-pacific ocean, issued a silver coin featuring Shirdi Sai Baba, whose followership has been increasing day by day worldwide.

It has been reported that it is the first ever official tender coin issued by any country on Sai Baba, minted by Helvetic Mint of Switzerland with Swiss hallmark and made of pure silver.

One side of the coin has a coloured photograph of the saint in sitting posture while the other side features Queen Elizabeth II.
