This silver Half-Rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb from the mint Mailapur during the 50th year of his reign.
Also considered as the last effective ruler, Aurangzeb was the sixth ruler of the Mughal Empire., His real name was 'Abu'l Muzaffar Muhi-ud-Din Muhammad' and was also known by his regnal title ‘Alamgir' which means ‘He who seizes the universe'.
This silver rupee which weighs around 11.4g will be sold with the estimated price of INR 15,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal, which will be held on 22nd July 2018. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sikka Zad Dar Jahan Chu Badr-e-Munir Badshah Aurangzeb Alamgir with AH '1118'. The reverse of the coin is inscribed as ‘Julus formula, RY 50 and Mint name ‘Mailapur’.
