Famed Football Striker Robert Lewandowski Featured on new Polish Stamps

Robert Lewandowski is a brilliant footballer who captains the national Polish team. The attacking striker plays for the revered Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. He is known for his accuracy and has been the leading goal scorer in his league matches.

Poland is so proud of Lewandowski that the country’s postal department recently released special commemorative stamps to honour him. The stamp was released in Poland on 14th June, the day when 2018 FIFA World Cup began in Russia.

Five million stamps depicting his picture, name, and initials have been issued and circulated today. Each stamp has a denomination of six Zloty. Lewandowski scored as many as 16 goals to help Poland qualify for the world cup and has set a new European record. Poland would play against Senegal in their first Group H match on Tuesday. Their next match would be against Colombia on 24th June and their final Group stage match would be against Japan on 28th June.
