In 1850, a vibrant Swiss stamp was issued by Zurich postal administration. This stamp was released to reduce the postage pay for local mail in the towns of the cantons Zurich, Zug, Schaffhausen and Thurgau.
This stamp depicts unusual designs in the centre with federal cross and a posthrone. This stamp was in use for a very short time. A set of two stamps was sold for 75984 US dollars by Rapp auction in 2014.
