India and Vietnam had officially released the first-ever set of commemorative postage stamps in January to celebrate the bilateral relationships between both countries. The stamps were based on the theme – “ancient architecture”. One of the stamps depicts Sanchi Stupa while the other features Thien Mu Pagoda. Both these ancient architectural wonders truly represent the respective nation’s cultures and traditions. The stamps were designed by artists from both countries.
Both the countries have a long history when it comes to friendship, ever since Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam initiated it. Important delegates from both countries were present during the launch ceremony. India-Vietnam relationships have prospered over various domains such as politics, defence, commerce, foreign affairs, energy, education, and science.
