The very first stamp issued by the Australia Post in 1912, it is known for its controversy that made it popular. In different printing test of this stamp colour like red, blue, brown were included.One of the famous controversy related to it is, the follower of the monarchy was offended that a cartoon Kangaroo replaced the King’s head on the stamp. The other thought that the stamp had a bad illustration, Australia looked like a country run by the Kangaroos.
Today in the philatelic world this stamp is considered one of the most valuable stamps. One of the stamp specimens of this type was sold for 138,000 US dollars.
