Stacks Bowers is going to offer two interesting banknotes from South Africa on 16th May at 9 AM PDT. One of them is a South Africa Treasury 1 Pond note issued in 1872, graded PCGS 62 with a holder. Every few examples of this note exist. The offered note is medium to large in size, majorly has green colours and is in excellent condition. It features black arms, handwritten signatures and partial handwritten date.

The second one is a Nationale Bank Pond note, issued in 1899, and graded PCGS VF 25 with holder. No other note of this type is recorded in the PMG population report. This extremely rare note features great details, considering its grade. It also features manuscript signatures, a partially handwritten date of 1899 and an image of President Paul Kruger. The watermark shows the bank name when the note is held against the light. The note is offered with an estimated value of $6,000 to $7,000.
