Swami Vivekananda was born in the upper-middle-class family in Bengal as Narendranath Datta. He carried out his education in western style university where he was exposed to Western Philosophy, Christianity, and Science. He was a person of the creative thinking; he was more than a spiritual mind.

Vivekananda founded the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission. He also carried out the freethinking philosophy of his guru, Ramakrishna Paramhansa forward into a new standard. He is well known for his speech which begins as ‘Sister and brothers of America’ in which he had introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the world religion in Chicago in 1893.

He was a Hindu monk and one of the most celebrated spiritual leaders of India. He was the foremost disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Mission and world spokesperson of Vedanta. He had played an important role in the introduction of the Indian Yoga and Vedanta Philosophy in the west.
