The 99th birth anniversary of late UP Chief Minister and freedom fighter Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna was celebrated with the release of special commemorative postage stamps on 25th April by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi in New Delhi, in the presence of other prominent personalities. Various other events and ceremonies would be organised to honour this great man throughout the year.

Shri Bahuguna always stood by his democratic values. He was inspired by leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Acharya Narendra Dev, Ram Manohar Lohia, and Chandrashekhar Azad.

Shri Bahuguna worked tirelessly in the education sector as well. He put in a lot of effort for the development of people living in the hilly areas of our country.
