                           2018-05-04 Fri
The New Zealand Mint has released its first coin in a new commemorative silver coin series for Nicaragua, featuring a jaguar. The jaguar is a ferocious hunter and is equally beautiful. Its flowery spots help them camouflage in the forests when they are approaching an unsuspecting prey. It can easily climb trees and often enjoy their meal by carrying their dead prey high up in the branches. It is the largest wild cat that is found in Nicaragua.
The Proof 1-ounce silver 100-cordoba coin features a colorized jaguar. The designs are highly detailed showing the Jaguar, all set for an attack, in its natural habitat.
The coin comes in a wooden box depicting Nicaragua’s coat of arms. The certificate of authenticity is written in English and translated into Spanish as well. The 31.1 grams coin has a mintage limit of 5,000 pieces and can be purchased for $85 U.S.
