Levi Strauss, the German-American businessman and the creator of Blue Jeans was born on 26th February in 1829.

Levi was German Jewish descent who founded the first company to manufacture blue jeans. His firm, Levi Strauss & Co., began in 1853 in San Francisco, California and is still one of the top manufacturing brands of denim jeans. The new style of work pants was patented in 1873.

In 1999, USA issued a 33 cents stamp which shows the 1970’s fashion and typical blue jeans. In 2010, a special Levis jeans stamp was issued by the USA of 46 cents.
