This banknote of Italy was issued in 1944 during the World War II. This note was issued to be circulated as the military payment note.Little is known about this world war issue, the records that are remembered and have survived this war suggest that this note was circulated in the Dodecanese Islands. This island is the group of twelve Mail Island in the Aegean Sea.
The obverse of this note depicts the famous lore of the Italian region, the story of its founders Remus and Romulus with the she-wolf with the fortress in the background. The reverse of this note depicts floral design and a stag in the corners.
This note was circulated for only six days. It is an excessively rare classical paper currency issued during World War II.
