Perth Mint Releases New Coin Featuring Kookaburra in High Relief

Kookaburra is a popular bird found in Australia which is famous for its unique call. Perth Mint released 2000 pieces of .9999 fine silver $2 coins made of 2 ounces of silver, featuring this amazing bird. The 62.213 grams coin can be purchased for $129.95 each. The coin comes in a gray display case, which is kept in an interesting shipper along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.The high relief finish brings out the detailing of the design well. The kookaburra is shown against its natural habitat on the reverse. The obverse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse also includes inscriptions AUSTRALIA, 2 DOLLARS, 2018, 2oz 9999 ag and ELIZABETH II.
Within the kingfisher species, the kookaburra is the largest bird. They mate for life and live in the same territories for one year. They are found in woodlands, open forests or even city areas.
