And we are back with yet another country’s banknote. Today let’s see a note from Somaliland, a country situated in eastern Africa. Somaliland is a self-declared state internationally recognised as an autonomous region of Somalia.

Year of Issue: 2011
Obverse: This banknote is a riot of colours with purple, blue-black and blue-green on multicolour underprint. Bank of Somaliland building in Hargeysa is in the centre with the denominational value written in two languages is depicted at all the four corners. Two signatures with the date and place of issue are seen in centre bottom with serial numbers in left and right set over traditional ornate designs.
Reverse: Ships and dock in background centre with herdsmen and sheep in front. The denominational value written in two languages is depicted at all the four corners within an ornate floral design of line patterns.
