This gold mohur was issued by Shah Jahan from the mint Surat, during the first year of his reign. The weight of this gold mohur is around 10.9g. The obverse of this coin is written as ‘Sahib Qiran Shihab Al-Din Muhammad Shah Jahan Badshah Gazi, Sanah 1, regnal year in this coin is written as ‘Sanah 1’ instead of ‘Ahad’. The reverse of the coin is inscribed with Kalima ‘la ilaha illallah Muhammad Rasulullah’ with the Hijri year 1037.
