SBP Officially Dismisses Rumours about its New Rs 10,000 Banknote

Fake News has been circulating on social media platforms that Pakistan is going to introduce a Rs 10,000 banknote. However, the State Bank of Pakistan has denied these rumours completely. A recent press release by the SBP mentioned that the current banknote denominations are sufficient for payments, settlements and other related needs of the country’s economy. They also mentioned that there is no need for issuing higher denomination banknotes.The SBP has advised the general public to not fall prey to these rumours. They have been asked to check the authenticity of news on the regularly updated SBP website and official social media accounts, before believing them or sharing it with others.
