Malawi is a small African country which is surrounded on all sides by Zambia, Tanzania, and Mozambique. it was the British Nyasaland Protectorate before it became an independent country in 1964. Over 80 percent of its population resides in rural areas and pursue agriculture.
The country has issued several interesting sets of postage stamps depicting birds. These stamps are very popular among topical collectors. Most of them are easily available which is why they are sold at discounted rates. However, a set of two overprinted and surcharged Bird stamps issued on 7th November 2016 is not very commonly found. The set has an officially listed value in both mint never-hinged condition and used condition of $3.75. Due to the set’s demand, they are being sold for $15. Experts suggest that the set is a good buy at $10.
