Highlights at the April 2018 Hong Kong Paper Money Auction

Hong Kong Paper Money Auction will be conducted by Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio in April 2018. A wide range of interesting and rare banknotes are going to be auctioned.

Indian beauties include a 100 Rupees Sicca Osmania from Hyderabad and a 1929 1,000 Rupees Sicca Osmania. Interesting Japanese issues like a 10 Kopeks, a 50 Kopeks and the finest-graded Pick M21 1 Ruble will also be offered.

A 1995 Macau Specimen Set with Lotus Blossom watermark will be offered. All of them are in gem condition. A fully Uncirculated Malaya 1000 Dollar BWC Specimen will be on sale with an estimated value of $40,000 to $50,000. A complete type set of 1953 Malaya and British Borneo notes Pick 1 through Pick 7 will be auctioned. All of them are issued except the 10,000 Dollar Queen Elizabeth II specimen which is in Uncirculated condition. Two different specimen varieties and a colour trial for the same 10,000 design will also be offered.

A fully issued 1 Peso Pick A26a from the Philippines will be offered for the first time by the auction house. A beautiful issued 10,000 Singapore Dollar and a later-issued 10,000 Singapore Dollar Specimen will also be on sale.

One of the only two known 1901 Straits Settlements Pick 4C 100 Dollar notes will be offered with an estimated value of $100,000. 1925 50 and 100 Dollar notes are also up for grabs.

An extremely rare Two Kuan note from the Yuan Dynasty, a 1914 Bank of China 10 Yuan remainder, a Temple of Heaven 1917 100 Dollar note, the popular 1953 large format issued 10 Yuan, rare Foreign Bank notes, Communist Bank notes are highlights from the Chinese notes section.
