Women’s Day, as the name implies, is dedicated to celebrating womanhood, their social, political, cultural, economic achievements with their significant contributions to our society. The day also emphasizes the importance of gender equality. People from all over the world come together to celebrate womanhood. The day has come to be increasingly associated with feminism and equal rights for women.

Every year, 8th March is celebrated as the International Women’s Day. The UN celebrates the day on the basis of different themes and this year's theme is ‘Press for Progress’.

India Post has issued a commemorative Postage stamp on the theme ‘India- UN Women HeForShe’ to celebrate the occasions of International Women’s Day at Dak Bhawan (New Delhi) in March 2016. The stamp depicts a beautiful half face of a man and half face of a woman having the face value of INR 5 and 25 respectively . The design of the stamp depicts a true meaning showing the gender equality.

Women all over the world are facing problems like gender inequality, violation, dowry, sexual harassment, and much more which we can’t even think of it. So forgetting all this violation let’s focus on the betterment of women. A woman is an elegant creation of God and the real architecture of society. A women’s condition signifies the prosperity of the nation. So how happy and successful your women’s are?
