Perth Mint released the world’s first 18-carat gold coins studded with pink diamonds called Jewelled Phoenix worth $188,000. The coin is made of 99.9% pure gold. It also contains 1.22 carats of rare, natural pink diamonds from Rio Tinto’s Argyle diamond mine.
A flowering paulownia tree is featured on the coin. Only eight such coins have been released making it extremely rare and desirable in the market. Since the diamonds on these coins are rare, its value becomes much higher.
The Phoenix is known as the immortal king of all birds. It is a symbol of happiness and prosperity as well in Chinese culture.
