Queen Elizabeth to be Dumped from Canadian Coins?
2016-02-11 Thu
A hot debate which started early this year has been taking limelight for some time. A group called Canada’s Republic Now demands that the longest-reigning monarch in modern history, Queen Elizabeth II should be officially removed from the country's stamps and coins. The group believes that when the nation celebrates its 150th anniversary, noted personalities from the country should be ideally featured on stamps and coins rather than those living in palaces of a foreign nation. They also are stating that an inscription of country's current prime minister is a better candidate than that of the queen.
