Record Sale of American Eagle 1 Ounce Coins

This popular American Eagle 1 ounce coin is being sold like pancakes this year by US mint. A record sale of 7,22,500 of these beauties were recorded on 8th February 2016, out of the 1 million coins that were released for sale that day.277,500 of the coins are remaining which are available for sale to authorized purchasers. The next set will be made available on 16th February. On the first week of the sale of silver American Eagles, which started on 11th February, 4 million coins were minted and all were sold within four days.
Fine Gold Bullion coins
Four variations of weights and denominations of the American Eagle .9167 fine gold bullion coins were released for sale. They included 1-ounce $50 face value coins, half-ounce $25 coins, quarter-ounce $10 coins, and tenth-ounce $5 coins. Cumulative sales of these coins were a total of 142,000 ounces.
American Buffalo gold coins
Only 1-ounce American Buffalo .9999 fine gold bullion coins are being sold by The U.S. Mint with a $50 face value. The Cumulative 2016 sales reached 36,000 coins as of February 8th.
