Finally the curtains were raised and officially approved designs of the 2016 Ronald Reagan Presidential dollar and the 2016 Nancy Reagan First Spouse gold $10 coin were unveiled to the world on February 6th.

As a part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the former President at The Ronald Reagan Foundation & Library in Simi Valley, Calif, these beautiful coins were issued. These coins will be the last among the series of commemorative coins that were minted yearly to honour the notable contributions of the nation’s presidents and first ladies.

The Reagans' coin featured the final design sketches that were approved by Deputy Treasury Secretary Sarah Bloom Raskin on behalf of Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew.

Under the Presidential $1 Coin Program that started in February 2007, the Nixon, Ford and Reagan Presidential dollars are the final issues.
