Nobody can ever forget the mesmerising voice of this maestro, Jagjit Singh who was born today on 8th February in the year 1941. Known for making the classical art form - Ghazal popular in India, Jagjit Singh has also rendered his voice to many folk as well as film songs. He was the pioneer to give more relevance to poetry that was loved among the masses and compose music which emphasised on the meaning of words and the melody evoked by them. His unique style of composing and Gayaki (singing) is termed as Bol-pradhan.
He earned critical acclaim as well as commercial success through his compositions for famous films like Prem Geet (1981), Arth and Saath Saath (1982), and TV serials Mirza Ghalib (1988) and Kahkashan (1991).
