2016-02-04 Thu
Ever carried eggs in your pockets? Well, now you can, if not real ones then egg-shaped coins at least! Yes that’s right. This first of its kind 1 oz. fine silver colourized coin named "Traditional Ukrainian Pysanka" is going to be issued by The Royal Canadian Mint on February 20, 2016.This unique Ukrainian Easter egg-shaped coin is designed by a Canadian artist Ann Morash and wonderfully captures the intricate beauty of a pysanka. Every element on this coin is well-thought of. Even the individual colours symbolize different phases of life: yellow stands for youth and purity; red represents the joy and passion; green is the colour of spring, which brings hope and renewal; and black suggests the darkest time before dawn, and the idea of eternity.
