Sun: The main source of Energy
2017-08-21 Mon
Energy is nothing but the ability to do the work. We need energy for each and every thing and it comes through various ways, the sun being the major source of energy. But do you think that we use enough Sun energy?
No, we don’t. We use electricity 24X7 without even realizing the amount of bill we pay yearly! The electricity which we use daily is generated from coal, oil or gasoline which is a limited source of energy. It is known as the Nonrenewable source. Whereas the energy from Sun is a Renewable source of energy because it is a never ending!
India has one of the largest solar plants in the world. The plant, in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, comes with a capacity of 648 MW and covers an area of 10 sqm/km. It bears the capacity of providing electricity to 150,000 houses.
Solar Panels work on Sun. These panels absorb the sunlight and generate electricity. They can be fitted on the roof top of your house and provide electricity for years and years. Installing a solar panel is a one-time investment.
The given brown and orange stamp perfectly depicts the uses of Solar energy.
The Sun provides Vitamin D to our body. But we cover our self with high sun protection creams so that the sun does not harm our body. Well.. We know it tans our body. But a little bit of Sun heading on our skin won't harm you! So next time you go out let the sun shine on you!
