Fake Australian Banknotes with Chinese Characters Found

A man was detained in Murray Bridge for carrying Fake Australian banknotes with Chinese characters on the clear window of the banknote. The police stated that apart from the fake bank notes, the man also carried a slingshot and some cannabis.The fake notes were in denominations of $100, $50 and $20. Similar fake notes made from China were used to train bank staff. These notes have Chinese characters across the clear window and dotted lines across the denomination. But they could be passed around when customers are distracted or when transactions happen in low light.
Real Australian banknotes are printed on plastic, feature the Australian Coat of Arms, depict diamond patterns inside a circle and come with a clear window in which the white image cannot be easily erased.
