Tower Mint to Strike Coins for Isle of Man

2017-03-24 Fri

The Isle of Man is known for its fifth-century Gaelic cultural ties which were followed by Viking settlements. Kingdoms of Norway, Scotland and England ruled the land after that. It became a self-governing Crown dependency since the 14th century but never joined the United Kingdom. The legislation and foreign policy are British but the domestic policy is taken care by the parliament which is the oldest running parliament in the world, established in 979. The country also issues its own coins and stamps.

Coins have been minted for them by British Pobjoy Mint since 40 years. The relation between the country and the mint will end on 1st April 2017. A new contract for 10 years has been signed with British Tower Mint. The Treasury is happy with the quality of coins and global marketing strategies of Tower Mint. Exciting new designs of circulating coins are lined up in 2017.

Tower Mint is popular for its Gibraltar coins. A first-strike ceremony for the new circulating coins of the Isle of Man, was conducted on 9th March 2017. Both the Treasury and Mint officials are extremely excited about the new coins. Coin Invest Trust will take care of international sales and distribution of the commemorative coins.
